Music video pitch 1

This is our first pitch that we made to the rest of the group for feedback. This pitch contrasts heavily from the other in that it is meant to have a ery serious tone throughout and is comparitively darker in nature.

The plot revolves aroun the band's front man, or vocalist - as tends to happen - and his relationship with a woman. Throughtout the course of the video we see him in stereotypical date scenarios. At a carnival with a ferris wheel, a romantic meal for two, a tandem bike ride etc. and for the half the shots he is with the woman and for the other shots he's on his own, but still acting as if she's there. Interspliced will be band shots of them in a white room all wearing black. Just to have a strong, simple and recognizeable contrast. Throughout the video there will occasionally be shots of a hospital bed completely empty. Towards the end of the video it is revealed that the woman is in a coma in the hospital bed and she will appear in the bed in the same way she disappeared in the previous shots. The idea for this came from the lyrics analysis. Upon first read we thought it was about a breakup, a second reading proved it could also mean seperation through death. Lines such as 'I've been as far away from you as I can' illustrate this.

This slide clearly illustrates some of the imagery we would want to incorperate into the video. influences of film noir were prominent and the idea of white on black representing the life and death connotations. everything band wise shoulld be kept simple yet striking while the narrative scenes can have more thought put into it.

 Here are some of the influences of we wanted to use for this pitch.  Life On Mars provided some inspiration for the coma idea and The Twilight Zone gave idead for the twist ending style. Thriller was used because it shows the characters on a date, this is the exact kind of image we want to portray quickly.
