This poster by The Wombats shows the bright side of some of the conventions of band posters. This one shows a lot of text, providing a lot of information to the reader about the venue and shows a lot of advertisements and endorsements at the bottom. The general theme of the poster is a bright sunny beach with a lot of people in shot. Showing the grup of people like this might be to encourage people to go as a group and have a day out, similar to what it appears the characters in the photo are doing. Each of them are covering their faces with old Womabts posters probably to show they are fans and that they are all part of the same group. The poster itself stands out boldy due to the vibrant colour of it and is designed to catch eyes,
This poster by the Verve at Glastonbury is a lot more minimalist in design to the Wombats. Barely any information is given and the focus is solely on the performer. The idea of the poster wouldnt be for the person to stop and read it, but be reminded of the band as they are passing by. The striking theme of the poster, however is in the colour scheme of the guy. Such an unusual colour scheme draws the eye and makes it very stylised.
Finally we have a vastly different poster from an older era. This Pearl Jam poster is from the time when psychedelic rock was large in the mainstream. As a result we can see the colouration is bright and vibrant and is easily eye catching. The poster also features the sex appeal in that it has a naked woman on the front clearly in pleasure. Maybe because of the music, maybe because of the band. Basically, she's affiliated with pearl jam and she's certainly enjoying her naked self. Good for her. The poster has three different fonts on it and a fair amount of information.
