Cast and Characters

Characters:

Before talking about the actual plot of the video i would like to outline some of the charaters we want to use. This will make the idea of the video much easier to undertand later down the line and why we wanted to choose this idea.

The Protaganist:

This is the guy that we will treat as the 'Normal one'. We want him to be the only one of the characters that isn't a blatant stereotype, and therefore, the one the audience should be relating with. This man is the one who is in a relationship with the woman and we see him at the start and the end of the video having trouble with the girl. Potentially in a fight. We will only find out if they make it as a couple at the end of the video after the rest of the events play out. In the band he will be shown as the lead singer and front man, as he will be the one at the fore front of the band and therefore will be visible during almost all of the band shots, keeping him fresh in every viewers mind throughout the video. He will be played by Luke Doyle.

The Woman:

The only character in the video who isn't part of the band. She is the character that we see the most of on screen, however. As mentioned, at the start of the video we see her and the singer in an arguement of some sort, hinting that they are in a relationship and in trouble. After establishing this to the audience the rest of the video will show her in a variety of different date scenarios with the rest of the band members in a series of dream sequences. She will be played by Eddie Mears. Her character should be versatile as essentially she is a placeholder for everyone's imaginations.

The nerd:

The nerd will be played by Elliot Humbles. He will look as stereotypical as we possibly can based off sources of oher music videos of the genre. Teenage dirtbag is a good example of this as it shows a nerd in full stereotypical attire and physicality. We see him play guitar or bass guitar in the band shots and he is in two scenes with the woman. The gags about the nerd all revolve around the fact that he plays games and does maths.

The Camp Guy:

The Camp guy will be played by Ben Thorogood. We will draw from stereotypes to represent him as camp but we will aim to not be offensive about it. We will portray him in bright colours and somewhat camp but never outright say he is gay. By strongly hinting but not confirming we an probably get away with not offending anyone. The camp man will also be a guitarist / bass guitarist and will have two scenes with the woman. both playing on stereo types of camp men.

 The Punk:

The punk will be played by Kurt Story. We originally wanted the punk to be a thug, with a very stocky build and mean demeanor, however we couldn't find anyone who could accurately play this part, so we decided to go for the skinny punk look. We drew inspiration from guitar hero's johnny napalm to get an idea of how to make him look. The punk will contantly be chewing gum and have an angry look on his face. his two scenes with the woman will play on the fact that he looks so mean and it will put him in situations that are considered girly.
