Costume

Luke:

 

We wanted Luke's costume to be very plain but also stylised. to do this we will dress him in a plain shirt and jeans for the narrative scenes and a thick coat for the band shots. this will mean he should stand out while being recognizable. The colour scheme we chose is predominantly light to show how his intentions are good at heart. We feel this should be the only character who is allowed to change costume between the narrative and band posts as he is the most recognizable character and doesn't rely on costume to define who he is.

 

 

Eddie:

 

 

We wanted Eddie's costume to be simplistic and memorable in the same vein as luke's. We want her to wear the same thing in every narrative scene to keep her consistent. the white is used to link her to luke, using a theme of white to make people think of the other when they see one. The dress itself is a sign of innocence and makes her seem sweet an kind, which is what we want the audience to think. I feel if we don't play her character right she might look like she is actually going out with these people which will look bad for her character.

Elliott

Elliott, playing the nerd should look as stereotypical as possible. He will be wearing the same costume for the band shots and the narrative to show that he isn't coming out of character at any point in the video. He will also be wearing glasses and his hair will be gelled or waxed to one side.









Ben

the idea for the camp guy is that he is wearing very flowery and flamboyant clothes. again he is going to be in the same costume throughout the entire video so as to remain in character. The scarf is there because recently it's become something of a symbol of femininity, so to put it on a man is a very stereotypical way of making him look effeminate.  It is a reccuring stereotype that Gay men dress well, reinforced by people like Gok Wan, there for we thought a dress shirt would be good for him to wear.



Alex

 we wanted a studded look for alex since he has to look threatening anyway we can. a simple all black costume highlighted with metallic colours should provide the imagery we want to use. We also want him to have a heavy set belt and large boots, to reinforce the bulky, thug / biker stereotype.
